QUEEN’S PARK – NDP MPP and Housing Critic Cheri DiNovo says that the McGuinty government’s housing strategy fails to make any difference on housing affordability.
“There is no new provincial housing funding and no targets, no timelines, no accountability for results. There is no Ontario Housing Benefit and no inclusionary zoning either,” said DiNovo.
“The housing strategy does not help the 142,000 people still on the waiting list for affordable housing,” she noted.
“The government has made no commitment to invest dollars for affordable housing. Today’s announcement is just the latest in the McGuinty government’s growing list of failures.”
